While providing production assistance for the upcoming jazz album, Face to Face, Organically Grown Productions worked with Creative Artists Agency and Special Rider Music to obtain the rights to record an original French language translation of Bob Dylan's song, “Moonlight” from the 2001 album Love and Theft.
The song is intended for use on the upcoming jazz album by Kelly McGuire and Laura Blye, who have finished mixing their final cut just days ago. Face to Face will feature a number of standards including “You Don't Know What Love Is” and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.” However, the album takes a turn from the conventional with its unique instrumentation, including banjo-ukulele, melodica, tuba and a smattering of hand drums.
McGuire's piano and Blye's vocals supply the album's primary musical forces, but Sims of Harmonious Wail (Madison, WI), Minneapolis-based bass player Benji Conklin and percussionist Rich Cairns (of the country band Motongator Joe) are a few of the contributors who help round out the album's sound.
Face to Face will be released in style with Dr. McGuire in front of a nine-foot Steinway grand piano in Menominee, Michigan's Spies Library on June 9, 2007. The CD will be available soon on iTunes, cdbaby.com and at electricsunflowerproductions.com.
