Based on true events, the story follows an engaged couple pursuing their own passions: Matt - his music, and Sara - her acting. When Sara is offered a dream role, she must choose between her following her dream and facing her financial reality. When Matt refuses to stand behind her in making this decision, Sara looks to a charming co-worker for support. Will Matt realize the importance of Sara's crisis? Will Sara let her dream slip by to preserve her creature comforts? Will this glimmer of hope for Sara mean and end for the two of them as a couple?
We are excited to have established director, writer, and filmmaker Nye Heron at the helm of this project. Mr. Heron directed “Shadow of a Gunman” starring Kenneth Branagh for the BBC, has worked as a producer and/or 2 nd unit director on the films The Boxer , In the Name of the Father , In America (Academy Award Nom.), Get Rich or Die Tryin' , in addition to having directed plays for the Tony ® Award-winning Roundabout and Williamstown Theatre companies.
Melissa Nearman (Sara) has appeared several times on the soap opera “One Life to Live,” acted in several independent films, and has played leading roles on many New York stages, including the world-famous LaMaMa Experimental Theatre Club. She hones her on-camera skills at the renowned Sally Johnson Studio in Manhattan .
Michael M. McGuire (Matt) has acted in theatres across the country, national television, and several films. He played the starring role of Marty Taft in The Gadget Gambler episode of the History Channel's hit series, “Breaking Vegas,” and appeared last winter on “Law and Order: SVU” in a courtroom scene with guest star Barry Bostwick. Michael has worked behind the camera on short films, a television pilot (which recently screened at the NY Television Festival), and a new feature film titled Amexicano with the award-winning Brooklyn-Queens Experiment production company.
